Jeffrey K. Ball (“Jeff”) is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Orange County Business Council where he represents the interests of local businesses and organizations together with academia and government to promote the economic growth of the nation’s sixth largest county, Orange County, California.

 Ball is the Founder of Friendly Hills Bank (now First Pacific Bank) where he previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer and is currently Vice Chair of the Board of Directors. His more than 40 years of experience in commercial and investment banking includes leadership positions with Bank of America, as well as past Chair of the California Bankers Association and past Chair of the Government Relations Council of the American Bankers Association. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors for Orange County Business Council, First Pacific Bancorp, the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, Mobility21, and Data Center, Inc. He is also a member by appointment of the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges and previously served two terms on the Legal Services Trust Fund Commission of the California State Bar.

 Prior to earning his MBA from Whittier College, Ball earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Puget Sound. A longtime advocate of financial literacy, he frequently guest lectures on the topics of financial and economic principles at high schools and universities across the nation.

Mrs. Lionetti has dedicated her career to serving students, supporting educators, and advancing educational excellence. She brings extensive experience in educational leadership, strategic planning, budgeting, organizational management, and student-centered decision-making.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Lionetti has remained committed to the belief that every decision should be guided by what is best for students. She has successfully led initiatives focused on academic achievement, operational effectiveness, fiscal responsibility, and the development of innovative programs that create meaningful learning opportunities for all children. Her leadership style emphasizes collaboration, transparency, accountability, and building strong relationships with students, families, staff, and the broader community.

Mrs. Lionetti is a strong advocate for hands-on, experiential learning and believes that education should extend beyond traditional academics to foster curiosity, critical thinking, empathy, and social responsibility. She is passionate about creating learning environments where students are encouraged to explore their interests, discover their strengths, and develop the skills necessary for future success.

A key component of Mrs. Lionetti’s leadership has been her ability to recruit, develop, and support high-performing teams of educators who share her commitment to student success. She believes that exceptional schools are built by talented professionals working together toward a common vision and purpose.

Michele Asay

Michele Asay is a mother, wife, and Senior Information Technology professional; in that order! A native of Orange County, California, Michele spent her entire educational career within the OC; graduating cum laude from Chapman University in Orange with her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and a minor in Art. Specializing in the area of business intelligence, Michele helps organizations identify their data needs and designs, builds, and delivers solutions to support those needs in varied industries including utilities, lending, and apparel & footwear. After the birth of her first child, Michele altered her career path to enable a better work life balance and allow for more participation in her children’s education. Michele & her husband Todd are 20 year residents of Huntington Beach with their three children attending Kinetic Academy. Over the course of her career, Michele chaired event committees to raise money for annual Giving Campaigns and has been recognized with multiple awards for Operational Excellence. Currently, Michele is the Senior Manager, Americas Business Intelligence Team for global action sports company Boardriders, headquartered in Huntington Beach, CA. Michele is a supporter of parent choice in education and is proud of her contribution to choice with the founding of Kinetic Academy.

Clare McKinnon

Clare McKinnon Anderson

Vice Chair

Clare is a Huntington Beach Resident of 20-plus years. When searching for local schools to enroll her daughter in for kindergarten, she discovered Kinetic Academy. Drawn to the STEAM-based education model, and the emphasis on community service, her daughter started at Kinetic Academy in 2017. Clare became involved with the Kinetic Parent Organization (KPO) leading the Waves of Kindness position which focused on community service and outreach and has also served as fundraising chair for the KPO Board.

Professionally, Clare has been in the mortgage industry for 22 years, working in different capacities, most recently as Vice President of Credit Risk for loanDepot.

Clare earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Redlands, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Environmental Studies. Her passion for travel was ignited there and she spent her Junior year of college studying abroad. Clare is thrilled to bring her experience and background to the Kinetic Academy board and to contribute to the growth and success of Kinetic. #KAAlltheWay

Katie Soricelli

Board Member

Katie Soricelli has been an integral part of the Kinetic Academy community since 2017, both as a passionate advocate for the school and as a mother of two current students. Having lived in Huntington Beach for over 20 years, she brings deep local ties and a strong commitment to the success of Kinetic Academy. Prior to joining the Board of Directors, she served on the Kinetic Parent Organization, where she actively supported school initiatives and helped foster parent engagement. A Southern California native, Katie attended Fullerton College and spent over 15 years working in the mortgage industry before deciding to become a full-time mom. Her extensive professional background and dedication to education fuel her work on the board, where she strives to help the school thrive for all students and families.

Jeff Caffey

Jeff Caffey serves on the Kinetic Academy Board of Directors, bringing a strong background in corporate management alongside a lifelong connection to the Huntington Beach community. Having attended local public schools throughout his entire grades 1–12 education, Jeff is deeply familiar with the regional educational landscape. Currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for Ancon Services, he oversees major commercial pipelines, enterprise partnerships, and operational efficiencies. On the Kinetic Board, Jeff applies his extensive professional experience in fiscal oversight and strategic planning to ensure the school maintains an impactful, high-performing asset for local families. In addition to his professional contributions, he is a proud Kinetic Academy parent, aligning his corporate operational skill set with a personal dedication to the long-term success of the student body.
