A southern California native and long time Orange County resident, Mrs. Lionetti received her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from University of California, Santa Barbara. She went on to obtain her teaching credential from California State University, Bakersfield and Masters in Educational Administration from Concordia University. With over 15 years of experience in education, Mrs. Lionetti has a strong foundation in elementary education. She has worked at a variety of schools in a number of settings with diverse populations of students and has taught Kindergarten through 5th grade. In 2016, she took a leap of faith and dedicated herself to opening Huntington Beach City School District’s first charter school, Kinetic Academy.
"I wish I would have had the opportunity to attend a school that offers what Kinetic offers to our students," Mrs. Lionetti. She believes that all students should receive a quality education that gives them multiple opportunities to excel, which is exactly what Kinetic Academy strives to do.
In her spare time, Mrs. Lionetti enjoys spending time with her family, friends, husband and their dog, Sammie.
Jeffrey K. Ball
Founding Board Member
Jeffrey Ball is the Founder of Friendly Hills Bank where he currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to opening Friendly Hills Bank he held several officer positions with Bank America Corporation focused on both Commercial and Investment Banking. Mr. Ball is a Past Chairman of the California Bankers Association, Past President of the Whittier Host Lions Club and current Chairman of the Whittier Union High School District Foundation. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Friendly Hills Bank, the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, the Western Bankers Association and Data Center, Inc., which is a bank technology company based in Kansas. Mr. Ball is also a member of the Government Relations Administrative Committee for the American Bankers Association which he previously chaired. He previously served as a board member for the Orange County Business Council, Junior Achievement of Orange County, the Whittier Area Chamber of Commerce and as Vice Chairman of the Measure "W" Bond Oversight Committee for the Whittier Union High School District. Mr. Ball served on the School Site Council for Brywood Elementary School in Irvine and on the Local Oversight Board for the Albert Einstein Academy in Huntington Beach. Mr. Ball has a Masters in Business Administration from Whittier College, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Puget Sound and is a resident of Huntington Beach.
Christine Shewbridge is the Regional Executive Director for Junior Achievement of Southern California, a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring kids to achieve at the business of life through economic education and financial literacy. Christine joined Junior Achievement in June 1994 and has served in every major position within the Orange County office and is currently overseeing Orange, Riverside & San Bernardino counties. She also oversaw the Kings, Kern, and Tulare Counties until 2018. Her career began in New York with Pan American World Airways in 1977 until its bankruptcy in 1991. She has extensive experience in fund raising, event planning, client relations, sales, and marketing. Ms. Shewbridge has been involved with the SBA Awards Luncheon Committee for Orange County & The Inland Empire for the past 23 years. She is also a member of Women Leaders Connect, formerly known as Business Women Rising since 2010. In 2018, she joined the Board of Kinetic Academy, a public charter school located in Huntington Beach. Junior Achievement of Orange County received the Future Financiers Allan R. Owens “Mission Accomplished” Award in 2017, Outstanding Partnership Award from the Santa Ana
Unified School District in 2014, the Service Enterprise Certification for California Volunteers, Office of the Governor certified by point of Lights in 2013, and Outstanding Contributions to Education award in 2011 from the Orange County Department of Education under her leadership. In June of 2004, she was nominated Volunteer of the Year for Vital Link and served as a member of the Board of Directors for Vital Link for 12 years. She was also distinguished as a Partner in Education in 2002 with the Santa Ana Unified School District. She received her degree from Suffolk Community College in Long Island, NY. She completed the United Way’s Multi Ethnic Leadership Academy in May 2003, and is the recipient of eight Junior Achievement Summit Awards. Raised in Babylon, New York, Christine now lives in Westminster, California where she enjoys surfing, yoga, and being involved in the community.

Michele Asay is a mother, wife, and Senior Information Technology professional; in that order! A native of Orange County, California, Michele spent her entire educational career within the OC; graduating cum laude from Chapman University in Orange with her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies and a minor in Art. Specializing in the area of business intelligence, Michele helps organizations identify their data needs and designs, builds, and delivers solutions to support those needs in varied industries including utilities, lending, and apparel & footwear. After the birth of her first child, Michele altered her career path to enable a better work life balance and allow for more participation in her children’s education. Michele & her husband Todd are 20 year residents of Huntington Beach with their three children attending Kinetic Academy. Over the course of her career, Michele chaired event committees to raise money for annual Giving Campaigns and has been recognized with multiple awards for Operational Excellence. Currently, Michele is the Senior Manager, Americas Business Intelligence Team for global action sports company Boardriders, headquartered in Huntington Beach, CA. Michele is a supporter of parent choice in education and is proud of her contribution to choice with the founding of Kinetic Academy.

Bret is a Sales Consultant in the Dental Industry. He began his Sales Career with Patterson Dental in 1997.
At the time Patterson was the largest Dental Supply and Equipment distributor to Dentists in the United States. At Patterson, Bret served as a volunteer on The Friends of Children Dental Health Center Advisory Board. Bret achieved tremendous success at Patterson exceeding Sales Expectations and was offered a position with Henry Schein Dental; the largest Dental Supply and Equipment Distributor in the world. In October of 2001, Bret made the move to Henry Schein Dental and has had a successful career with them for the past 14 years. Bret served on the Board of Overseers for the Albert Einstein Academy in Huntington Beach for the 2014 -2015 School year. Bret Graduated from San Diego State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Bret enjoys coaching baseball, soccer and Jiu-Jitsu in his local community. He resides in Orange County with his wife, 11 year old son and their 8 year old daughter.
Paul Simonds is a husband, dad, coach, avid Dodgers fan and vice president at Curt Pringle & Associates.
He has nearly 20 years of public affairs and strategic and crisis communications experience, spanning numerous issues and industries throughout California.
Before joining the CP&A, Paul served as a public affairs manager with SoCalGas, where he advocated on behalf of the nation’s largest natural gas distribution company. There Mr. Simonds introduced energy efficiency programs to local stakeholders, worked to secure infrastructure entitlements, promoted pipeline safety programs throughout Orange County, played a pivotal role as a crisis communications professional and engaged customers and businesses, promoting SoCalGas policies and projects. Before that, he worked with the Irvine-based Western Growers Association, the nation’s largest specialty crop (fruits, vegetables, tree-nuts and nursery commodities) trade association. There, Paul managed all internal and external communications efforts on issues ranging from food safety to immigration reform to water supply reliability.
Paul serves on the Executive Committee for the South Orange County Economic Coalition, where he previously served three terms as chairman. He also serves as chairman of the Greater Irvine Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Committee, board member of the Economic Coalition Political Action Committee, board member of the Prosperity Political Action Committee and is a former board member of the Capistrano Unified School District Foundation, Dana Point Chamber of Commerce, Sustain OC and the external relations committee for Second Harvest Food Bank.
Paul is a veteran, serving as a Navy journalist from 2001 to 2006. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Media Relations from Chapman University and his Masters in Public Administration from Brandman University. At CP&A, Mr. Simonds manages clients from a wide range of industry sectors, including, transportation and mobility, aerospace, public utilities, real estate, sports and entertainment and others.
