Mrs. Roy - Art
over 13 years of elementary school teaching experience, grades K-5. Mrs. Carrillo holds a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts, with a Spanish emphasis, and also a Masters Degree in Education from Azusa Pacific University.
Mrs. Carrillo spent a semester abroad in Salamanca, Spain and has had many traveling opportunities in beautiful Mexico.
She lives here in Huntington Beach with her husband and two daughters, who are 3 and 6 years old. Spreading a love for learning foreign language and culture is one of Mrs. Carrillo’s greatest passions, which she looks forward to sharing with the Kinetic Academy students!
Katie graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree and a Minor in Dance Education and Ensemble.
Ms. Doherty obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Long Beach in 2012, and continued on to receive her Master’s Degree in Education in 2017. She has experience teaching 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade. In her free time, Ms. Doherty enjoys the outdoors, whether camping, hiking, or paddle boarding.
Kellye graduated from California State University of Long Beach in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a CLAD emphasis.
As a So Cal native, Ms. Covarrubias received her B.A. in Liberal Studies and her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University Long Beach. In her free time Ms. Covarrubias enjoys reading, coaching soccer, and going to baseball games with her son.

Mrs. Wong received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Liberal Studies and graduated with honors from California State University, Long Beach in 2012. She has experience teaching Kindergarten, first, second, and sixth grades.
Mrs. Fernandez graduated from California State University, Fullerton earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development. She continued her education there and earned her teaching credential with a technology emphasis. In her free time, Mrs. Fernandez enjoys going to the beach and Disneyland with her husband and two sons.
Becki received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Design from the University of California, Los Angeles. She went on to obtain her teaching credential, and took her first teaching position in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Mrs. Roy has taught kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grades.
With a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Rhode Island, she set out searching for new adventures in the golden state. Shortly after landing in Long Beach, Katie received her California credentials in K-12 physical education and health education.
She graduated from California State University, Long Beach, where she received her degree in Geography and went on to receive her teaching credential.
She attended Sonoma State University where she received her Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Studies. She continued on to Chapman University where she obtained a Multiple Subject teaching credential.
Originally from New Jersey, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education along with a Language Arts Middle School credential from Montclair State University. Montclair State is one of the most highly distinguished teacher preparation programs in the country.
Mr. Cobey graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Cal State Channel Islands and received his Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Cal State Long Beach.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia where she studied in a teacher prep program for Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education. She maintains her Professional Teaching Certificate for the state of Florida, as well as the addition of a California credential.
Janna received her General Education Credential, Special Education Credential and Master’s Degree in Special Education from Chapman University. She also received a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from The George Washington University. She has taught in many educational settings; General Education, Inclusion Model, Learning Center Model, Special Day Class and Non -Public Schools, ranging from k-12+ grades. She has over 15 years of experience and loves finding ways to help educate students who are struggling. In her spare time she enjoys watching/playing sports, baking and doing crafts with her 2 kids. She grew up in Huntington Beach and is looking forward to being a part of this growing community!
Cassie Naasz received her Bachelors of the Arts in Liberal Studies from California State University, Long Beach with an emphasis in Mathematics. She also holds a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Introductory Mathematics Authorization. She has experience teaching 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.
She received both her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and her Multiple Subject teaching credential from UC Irvine. Mrs. Rierson has been trained in music education through the Orange County Orff Association, in the methodolgy of Orrf-Schulwerk, a child-centered approach to music education that focuses on voice and movement.
